What this is

MediaBias.fyi is a free public toolkit for checking online claims. It began as a media literacy project for a Columbus State University course and is published and maintained by Kestrel Exams LLC.

What it will never do

• Ask you to make an account.
• Track you as an individual, or sell anything.
• Carry advertising. This site is a permanent no-ad zone, decided deliberately: a page that teaches you to ask who is paying should not itself be paid by someone you cannot see.
• Tell you what to believe about a contested political question.

Editorial standard

Every factual claim on this site is checked against a named, dated, public source with a stated sample size before it is published. Where research is contested or a finding is preliminary, that is said rather than smoothed over. Corrections are made in place and noted.

Translation

English is authored. The other six languages are machine-assisted drafts and each carries a visible notice until a fluent speaker has reviewed it. We would rather say that plainly than let you assume a native editor has already been through it.
